When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Who we share your data with

We use third-party service providers and platforms to perform certain services on our behalf, such as hosting our Site, processing, storing, maintaining and transmitting data, processing and fulfilling email and other promotional campaigns, and providing web and data analysis. We may provide your personal information to these third-party service providers when the information is necessary for them to perform their duties.

Where permitted by law, we may also share de-identified or aggregate information with advertisers or advertising platforms that we have collected so that we may conduct marketing and advertising business on our behalf or on behalf of our clients. De-identified and aggregate information is information that no one can trace back to you as an individual or your household.

In the unlikely event of a merger, acquisition or sale of some or all of our business, or insolvency, bankruptcy, or receivership, we may disclose your personal information. We also may use or disclose your personal information where required by law, in response to legal process and law enforcement requests and/or when necessary to protect your interests or to protect or defend our legal rights or the rights of other users. We may also use it to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, or violations of our Terms of Use.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. DMP may also use your information to contact you or to provide you with requested services. Our newsletter sign-up form will send your name and email to our automated email campaign platform that is run by DMP. Otherwise, DMP does not sell nor willingly share private information obtained on our site.
